As the owner of Lagos... we think this is the best town on the Algarve. The old town with its cobbled streets and quaint shops and bars give it a truly unique charcater. In contrast to this is the modern and lively marina area with more sophisticated dining options and access to the beach bars on Meia Praia. We suggest an excursion with a local fisherman who will (very skillfully) sail you along the rugged coast - in and out of the caves!
If you prefer something a little racier - take the speed boat excursion out to see the dolphins. We never visit Lagos with visiting the nearby village of Burgau - we can recommend the food (and drink) at the Beach Bar there.
