Welcome to Birmingham
As the owner of Birmingham...
Birmingham is a city and metropolitan borough in the West Midlands county of England. Birmingham is the largest of the British Core Cities and the second most populous British city, with a population of 1,006,500 (2006 estimate).
The city was a powerhouse of the Industrial Revolution in England, a fact which led to Birmingham being known as "the workshop of the world" or the "city of a thousand trades".
Although Birmingham's industrial importance has declined, it has developed into a national commercial centre, being named as the second-best place in the United Kingdom to locate a business, and the 14th best in Europe by Cushman & Wakefield in 2009.It is also the fourth-most visited city by foreign visitors in the UK.

LadyZub BIRMINGHAM AIRPORT UPDATE:
A CLOUD of volcanic ash is causing chaos at Birmingham Airport forcing them to cancel almost every flight this morning.
Airport bosses say the volcanic activity - caused by an eruption under an Icelandic glacier - will cause "major disruption" because UK airspace has been closed.
The problem is expected to continue throughout the morning and could take up to three days to clear completely.
For updates check the Birmingham International Airport website at www.birminghamairport.co.uk
