Paul Manor House fact of the day. Did you know golfer Justin Rose and Ashes winning cricketer Kevin Pietersen both got married here (not together in a civil ceremony I hasten to add). I met JR at the Manor House a couple of times and super nice guy. Plus we have the distinctive honour of both having our wedding photo's in the main ladies toilets of the Manor House Hotel :)

Paul If you want something special to do this weekend why not take a trip to The Manor House at Castle Combe and enjoy afternoon tea in front of one of the many open fires. you can then work off the cream cakes with a walk around the beautiful grounds!

Paul Seems !CastleCoombe is having a taste of Hollywood with Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg filming War Horse in the village last week. Apparently one local said: "The minders and the cars outside with the tinted windows that gave it away – and the baseball cap." The director’s current project is an adaptation of a children’s novel by Michael Morpurgo which tells the tale of a farm horse taken to serve in the First World War and the young boy who goes in search of him. It features Jeremy Irvine, Emily Watson and Harry Potter star David Thewlis, who also played one of Black Beauty’s owners in the 1994 film.

Paul Normal type of driving about 30 to 35 minutes. Obviously depending on time of day (and how fast you drive!!). Are you thinking of going? It's such a beautiful village. I recommend tea and scones on the lawns of the Manor House!

Paul !CastleCombe was once called the prettiest village in England and in 1966 had a starring role in the 1966 film Dr Doolittle where the town was dressed up as a seaport! !CastleCombe is still one of the prettiest villages in the UK, and indeed the World to visit. In 2001 it was awarded the title of 'Most Picturesque Village' by British Heritage Magazines 2001 Traveller's Choice Awards and is a stunning place to visit all year round.

J4UTY

J4UTY This village is one of my favourite places to go, and I was only there the other day. I love all the small local public house's as the atmosphere is always relaxed. Every Sunday there is a homemade cake sale if you want to try local produce. I can also recommend the Castle Inn for food as well as Castle Combe Manor.
