Welcome to Las Vegas
As the owner of Las Vegas...
Wow Vegas -What a place.
The City that does not Sleep!!
!LasVegas is a play ground for the rich, famous and party people.
Caesars Hotel. This place is MASSIVE. All the shops gambling and alcohol you could ever want or need. This is the place to stay for a Party. If you can upgrade to the Rainman Suite DO IT. Please check out this video on Youtube..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOowMudwT5s
The Ballagio. This is a lovely Hotel. Seems to move at a slower pace than Caesars. Different types of Clientele are attracted to this place. I recommend it, if you are taking your Partner away.
Limos- $60 dollars will get you anywhere along the 8 mile !LasVegas Strip. Another $200 and you can have a lovely young lady get her Kit off for you.
Taxis - They are cheaper, the guy stood out of the front of the hotels will flag one down for you and give you an idea of the Price too.
Nothing is too much for any member of staff from Pool attendants to Bar Staff to Receptionist. Remember to tip them. Keep a stack of $1 bills in your pocket.
Upgrades -The $20 Trick - Slip the Check in Staff a $20 bill with your ID and ask " Do you have any complimentary upgrades available" More than likely you will get an upgrade. In my last stay I was given two.
Table Etiquette - I got told off more times than a Politician at an Expenses convention. The Croupiers are all very different. Some have patients some don’t. They will prompt when it is your turn to Bet/fold etc. They will also advise you of the house Rules. Find a good one and stick with them. If you win, they win as you will more than likely get a tip from you.
Oxygen -The Casinos are pumped with Oxygen. This is to keep you awake and gambling helped me on my 42 hour bender!!
Drinks- While you are in the Casino and sat at a table or a one armed bandit, drinks are free. You need to be playing and they come round every 20 minutes or so. Tip them Too- They will come back more often!
Clubs - For amazing views and a great night I highly recommend the Club on top of the Hotel Rio. Panoramic views of the city. $70 all you can drink and live music on the roof. This place was pumping until the early hours of the morning.
If you have had a big win, treat yourself to a night in Pure which is in Caesars Palace. For a minimum spend, you can have a cabana and your own private Door staff. Roof Terrace views and copious amounts of Vodka. Need a light? Your Doorman will be there before you have even thought about having a smoke lighter in hand!
Is that a Gun in my Pocket? - Visit a shooting Range and Gun shop. They have many different packages available. Contact them directly and go shoot some Machine guns, pump action shot guns or pretty much any gun that takes your fancy. It seems to be the place to go for American family day’s out- Very strange! Look son it’s an AK47!
The "O" Theatre -Go and see Cirque du Soleil -An amazing show. Don’t ask me the storyline as there is not one. Just some amazing acrobatics and a crazy stage that moves!
Hooters - Nuff said
Stack - Look this restaurant up. Melt in the mouth steak. Best steak I have ever tasted.
Vegas gets hot - Pack your Sun cream. Although I can count on one hand the amount of time I spent in the sun. Too much to do inside. If you want a chilled holiday go somewhere else!
Shopping -Loads of shops in every Hotel. Caesars probably has the best range. You can buy the real Superman outfit worn by Christopher Reeve in Superman 2 or a pair of flip-flops from the Convenience shop. Deals are out there to be done. If you don’t ask you do not get.
Las vegas is frequently used as backdrops for extravagant films and TV shows. Delving into the luxury of the rich and famous.
The major attractions in Las Vegas are the casinos. The most famous hotel casinos are located on Las Vegas Boulevard on the portion of that road known as the Las Vegas Strip. These larger casinos are located outside of the city. Many of these hotels are massive, providing thousands of rooms, with their large adjoining casino areas. There are many hotel casinos in the city's downtown area as well, which was the focal point of the city's gaming industry in its early days. Several large hotels and casinos are also located somewhat off the Strip, as well as in the county around the city. The main strip boasts 29 casino/hotels, the most famous ones are:
- Mirage http://www.mirage.com/
- Caeser's Palace http://www.caesarspalace.com/
- Bellagio http://www.bellagio.com/
- Monte Carlo http://www.montecarlo.com/
- MGM Grand http://www.mgmgrand.com/
Las Vegas is also famous for the unbelievable shows it puts on. From Burlesque to Barry Mailow. David Copperfield to Disney's The Lion King.
Las Vegas is the City that never sleeps.
Let's hit the slots.
Got a question? Please feel free to ask and I will do my best.

Harris Viva las vegas...... A Premiership footballer looks like he had a good time when visiting Vegas. Just looks like he might regret it now after he had an email saying that his romp with 3 girls could get leaked on the internet showing all....... DOH!!! :) - http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3345931/Premier-League-star-blackmail-over-orgy-with-3-blondes.html

Harris lol, hope they make another Ocean's film, love all 3 but the first has to be the best!!!

Paul Actually quite funny for you @Harris. I like the Ocean's films, great casts! Quite liked the card counting one recently (was it 21?) and one of the best Vegas cameos has to be Con Air with the plane crashing on the strip (yes Harris that could *really* happen!). I enjoyed the Hangover, but the ultimate and undisputed best ever Vegas film for me is Rain Man /cc !Film

Harris One filme i am looking forward to coming out is the Hangover 2, set in Thailand!!! should be another great film!!!

andyph @paul never seen Rain Man, will keep an eye out for that. As for the Ocean films, all great. The Hangover, again, has to be one of my favorites and I will be eagerly awaiting numero 2!

Paul Rain Man is a quality film. The opening sequence has a load of countach's coming off a container ship. Old school. Based on a true story of Kim Peaks, who is severely autistic, and talented beyond belief. good knowledge hey!!

Tash I've not seen it either!

Paul If you ever have the opportunity you have to go and watch Cirque du Soleil "KÀ" at the MGM Grand. Absolutely stunningly mind-blowingly good

Tash wow! I bet it's mega pricy!!
one year ago
Matty It actually isn't that bad @Tash. Normally $44 a night and I got it for $30 per night. Little money off, and ever little helps when everything else costs so much in Vegas.

Tash wow, I'm impressed- I thought it would be much more than that! Are you in Vegas at the mo?

Joe Next year is the year, my plan is simple, win the student poker championships....top prize is all expenses paid trip to the World Series of Poker Main Event, from there I'll win that and get a nice bracelet and a few million...simplez!!
one year ago
Joe In the main event ($10,000 No Limit Hold 'Em) 1st place is $8,944,138 but finishing 700th odd gets you $20,000, double the entry fee, although this is a bit annoying because it takes up to 3 days of hard play to get here. With over 7,500 players in the main event! The actual World Series of Poker is made up of various events, 57 to be precise, but the main event is, by a long way, the most popular!!
one year ago
rossharding are you any good at poker @joe?
one year ago
Will Well over 7500 players is a lot, so I guess that even finishing around 700th-ish could be a challenge. 3 days of playing poker is pretty hardcore though, I doubt I could manage that but I must admit I'm more of a casual player!
one year ago
Joe I'm not bad @rossharding, pretty good when I concentrate! I'm a better live player than I am on line though, I tend to lose concentration and get distracted easier on-line, but with my iPod plugged in I can sit at a live tournament and really rake in the chips!! Never really played longer than 12 hours before, which is roughly one day of poker because people need to rest ect. Just have to play tight and out live your opponents!! :)

rossharding i hope it goes well @joe!

Matty I must admit, this is a sick Zub! Any chance that you could input a section or two describing Las Vegas' position in popular culture. Sounds unusual perhaps, but would be fascinating to know which areas are displayed in certain films (Ocean's Eleven). Thats all the ideas I have, but such a prestigious city must have some stories.
