Welcome to Sagay

Sagay

As the owner of Sagay... Sagay city was known for the code name "city of smile" also with matching love..thats true!!that's why i choose topics about love!! "How To Have A Successful Lasting Relationship?" Love conquers all, right?" Well----it’s suppose to. But most marriages will end in divorce. Most of their problems are about the children, money, or in-laws.
"When couples commit to a long relationship, there are specific personality traits they should have in common.
1. Similar physical texture (thick skinned/thin skinned)
2. Similar emotional stability
3. Similar degree of tolerance
4. Similar intelligence/understanding of situations
5. Similar Interests

Without these five traits, the couple live on difference planes, different worlds. They are inclined to drift apart.
Couples grow by adjusting to their differences, but some times, the amount of the difference may be too much.
Love provides the reason for being willing to adjust to the other person’s difference from yours.
A frequent question is; "How do I know its real love?" The answer may be that when you are enjoying something special - e.g. a movie, a sunset, flower, song, and you long to have your partner to share it with. The degree of longing will determine how much in love you are.
Growth in a relationship should come from; doing things together, allowing things to happen, accepting them as is, and changing what you can. It involves sharing and caring.
Sagay City was originally called Arguelles when Teniente Francisco Rodriguez and Basilio Cordova founded it in 1860 in the mouth of the Bulanon River. Later, by the order of the Spanish governor the town was transferred to Pueblo de Magallanes (now known as Old Sagay) in honor of Fernando Magallanes.

Having the status of a pueblo, Sagay was entitled to have a “Capitan del Pueblo,” the highest town official during the time. The first to be appointed to this position by the Spanish Governor was Elulalio Rodriguez. Gregorio Parreño, and Pedro Katalbas Y Villanueva later succeeded him.

During the Philippine Revolution, Sagay contributed its share to what proved to be a successful national struggle for independence. The hard-won First Philippine Republic was however short-lived when the country passed to the hands of another colonial power, the United States of America in 1898.Sagay City is a 2nd class city in the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines.

Sagay can be easily identified in the map of Negros Occidental, because of its “ice-cream cone” shape sliced from the northern tip of Negros. It is bounded in the north by Asuncion Pass and the Visayan Sea; the municipality of Talisay and Calatrava in the south; cities of Cadiz and Silay in the west and the municipality of Escalante and Toboso in the east.

How to get there
*Sagay City is a two-hour drive from Bacolod City. Public utility vehicles plying the northern Negros route pass by this progressive city. From Cebu, one can reach Sagay via Toledo in about four hours including a one-hour ride in fast ferries.

BACOLOD CITY March 7 (PNA) - The Negros Occidental provincial government is eyeing more tourist arrivals and visitors for this year's Pana-ad sa Negros Festival in Bacolod.

Marlin Sanogal, provincial information officer, told the Philippine News Agency full-blast preparations are now on for the holding of the sugar-producing province's biggest annual festival, slated April 26 to May 3, 2008.

Sanogal said Pana-ad brings together the 32 towns and cities of Negros Occidental in an array of theme booths that showcase their history, arts, culture, trade, investments and tourism at the sprawling Panaad Park and Sports Complex in the capital city of Bacolod.

She said Pana-ad had been attracting an increasing number of balikbayans, domestic and foreign tourists every year that the festival is staged.
Pana-ad also showcases each city and town's own festival and street dances, products and tourism and investment potentials through their respective theme parks and booths at Pana-ad grounds, Sanogal said.
The provincial information officer said kiosk rentals which are open to the general public, including non-Negros residents are now open for reservation.
She said there are 91 slots available for food kiosks, 64 slots for dry goods kiosks, 27 slots for garden kiosks, and 38 slots for the selling of ice cream/shakes/hotdogs.(PNA)
