Silverstone is a medium sized village in Northamptonshire, England. It is about 4 miles (6.4 km) from Towcester on the former A43 main road, 10 miles (16 km) from the M1 motorway junction 15A and about 12 miles (19 km) from the M40 motorway junction 10, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Banbury. The A43 now bypasses to the south-east of the village, between the village and the race circuit.
About half a mile to the south of the village is the Silverstone Circuit, a former Royal Air Force World War II bomber base and now the traditional home of the British Grand Prix. This Formula One race attracts over 100,000 visitors each year.
The White Horse Inn is located centrally in the village.

TomJ Did anyone watch the F1 race at !Silverstone over the weekend? What did they think of it? I thought the McLaren's did really well despite their poor performance but Alonso didn't seem to happy about getting a penalty!

Tash Nope, it was far too nice out in the sun to be watching F1!
Will I only managed to watch it on TV, but I bet it would have been much better actually being there at !Silverstone as opposed to watching on the TV! The Red Bulls were really flying, and I think the McLaren's did well to still pick up lots of points even though they didn't win!
Tash My cousin went to watch it, she left at 4am to get there!
Tash I'm not entirely sure to be honest @Will, I think they were making very sure they didn't get stuck in traffic!!!!
