Welcome to Walberton
As the owner of Walberton...
Welcome to, probably, the most exciting place in West Sussex, and maybe even Sussex as a whole. Mind you, I haven't been to that many places in the area, so I'm not really qualified to say. But there is a pub (the Holly Tree) which is OK, and there is some other stuff as well (there is a wicked cool group of happy clappy Christians who sing carols into the small hours).
Nothing really happens here. There used to be a gang, and some guy once got shot in the arse with an air rifle, but that was a while ago now.
I think that the population is about 1000, but I'm not really sure.

thales Greetings and salutations! Its been a while, I know, but I have a slightly late report from Walberton.
I have now posted a new photograph of the world record-breaking snowman built in Walberton during the harsh winter months. As I have written in the caption, it measured seven Peter Crouchs, which is how snowmen are officially measured.
In other news, there are some daffodils

thales I'm not a girl. Not yet a woman. All I need is time; a moment that is mine, while I'm in between.
The great Britney Spears for you there. Actually, the video for this song (and much of the epic film 'Crossroads' that it was written for) was filmed in and around Walberton. The moody rock posing that Britney does at the start was filmed just off of Tye Lane, near the field with the horses. I've walked the dogs up that way, and there is still some of the old Britney magic lingering in the air. Although that might just be the waft from the horse s***...

thales The weather in Walberton is fine, and set fair for the weekend. Which is nice. Although their is some sad news to report; Patricia the Pothole has been filled in by the council. They have done a fairly poor job, and so poor old Patricia is looking a little sorry for herself. A service of commemoration is being held at the church, and there are plans for a candle-light vigil at her side

thales Crap. I just read what I wrote above. I used the wrong 'their' (should've been 'there'). I am hanging my head in shame as I type. Since this makes seeing the screen a little tricky, I will now go and carry out the necessary sacrifice to the god of grammar (Pedanticus), and burn three pieces of poorly written homework, and possibly a hedgehog, if I can get my hands on one.

Tash Don't beat yourself up about it! And please don't burn a hedgehog:) can we see some more pics soon please, I've missed your art!

Joe Speaking of Hedgehogs, I haven't seen one of those for AGES!!!

Will Some of the potholes near me have been getting filled in as well, it does seem strange not being able to play 'dodge the pothole' when driving around now!

Joe Could !Walberton have it's own soap with all the drama that happens?
Joe I have no idea lol - perhaps just WALBERTON or maybe The holly tree, after their pub?
thales Hmm, a soap. I may have to suggest it to the Walbertonians. I think 'Walberton' could be a good name, alhtough it may be a little obscure. Perhaps 'The dramatic and surprising goings-on of a small sussex village' would give people a better impression of what the show would be all about. We could set it up as a sort of Truman Show thing, setting up secret cameras all over Walberton, so as to better capture the spontaneous happenings

LadyZub The 'Walbertonians'. Sounds like more of a radio show like 'the Archers'. Perhaps it could be all based around the Holly Tree pub, no other soap is solely dedicated to the happenings in and around one particular pub :)

Holly is that wedding bells I can hear in !Walberton?

LadyZub Aha, I see! @thales are you planning a wedding in !Walberton? When is it? It would be great if you could upload some photos for us all to see! x

thales To the best of my knowledge, no weddings are taking place in Walberton. I was just looking at the flowers that are there; several Walbertonians have too much time on their hands, and so consequently they have impressive gardens. Being well-known for an interest in growing things (I once won a bet with a group of friends about the local production of olive oil, oh, about 2500 years ago), I thought I'd have a wander now spring has just about sprung! I shall post some more photos of the flowers. They are pretty.
